Highlights of the Tour
Blue Mosque: Built between 1609 – 1616 for Sultan Ahmet by one of the apprentices of Sinan the Architect, Sedefkar Mehmet Aga. Visitors are fascinated with the beautiful blue tiles and 6 minarets.

Topkapý Palace : The imperial residence of the sultans was also the seat of government for the Ottoman Empire. Topkapý Palace Complex includes three portal gates, four courtyards, kitchens, harem, audience hall, divan, treasury and some pavillions.

Grand Bazaar : The oldest and the biggest closed bazaar in the world also known as the Grand Bazaar has around 4000 shops and over 60 alleyways covering a huge labyrinth within the city centre.

Highlights of the Tour
Hippodrome : During the Byzantine era the Hippodrome was the centre of civil activities. Not only chariot races, but also the celebration in honour of the emperor took place here. Today one can see the Obelisk of Thedodosius, Serpentine Column and Egyptian Obelisk.

Hagia Sophia : It is one of the world’s most important buildings in respect of its architecture. Hagia Sophia meaning Divine Wisdom was the biggest church ar its time and today is the fourth biggest in the world. To stand in Hagia Sophia is like to witness sixteen hundered years of history.

Underground Cistern (Basilica Cistern) : The grandest and most impressive one of its kind in Istanbul. It was built in 6th century and water was brought to this big reservoir from distant sources through aquaducts. There are 336 columns and cistern is 70 m / 230 ft wide; 140 m / 1460 ft long.

Egyptian Bazaar : Also called Spice Market was built in 1664 and was traditionally known as a place where shops sold only spices which came from Egypt. Today besides few spice shops at many shops dried fruit, basketwork, jewellery, haberdashery, drapery etc. Are sold.

Bosphorus Cruise : The Bosphorus is a narrow, navigable 33 km strait between Europe and Asia connecting the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea. Its shores offer a delightful mixture of past and present, grand splendor and simple beauty. A visit to Istanbul is never completed without a cruise on the Bosphorus.

Dolmabahçe Palace :The Dolmabahce Palace,a blend of various European architectural styles, was built in 1856, as the official residence for the Sultans after Topkapi Palace. The three – storied palace is built on a symmetrical plan with 285 rooms and 43 halls including the Grand Ballroom, which is largest of its kind in the world, and has a 600 m long quay by the Bosphorus.

Rumeli Fortress : The castle on the European shore of the Bosphorus. Sultan Mehmet II the Conqueror erected this castle in 1452. 10000 men completed the construction in four months. The purpose was to control the Strait.

Bosphorus Bridge : In 1973,on the 50th anniversary of the Turkish Republic,a suspension bridge similar to the British River Severn Bridge was opened in Istanbul linking the Asian and European shores of the strait.

Beylerbeyi Palace : This palace built as a summer lodge for Sultan Abdulaziz by an Armenian architect Sarkis Balyan between 1861-1865.The exterior decoration was adopted from European neoclassicism but interior was completed in the traditional Ottoman style.The 3 storey,26 rooms and 6 living halls pslsce was generally used to entertain foreign dignitaries.
